GOTO supports Android OS versions 1.5 through 2.3 and has been tested on a variety of devices for compatibility. We do not support running on unofficial or modified ROM's, and features may vary based on customizations of Android performed by individual phone manufacturers.
We decided not to spend the resources on developing and maintaining a seperate demo version of GOTO. However, the Android Marketplace allows you to return applications for a full refund, please see Google's refund policy for details. This is not usually advertised but we want our customers to feel free to try GOTO without risk and we think you will be very satisfied with your purchase.
Yes, GOTO does run automatically after a reboot but the native lock screen always starts first and Android does not provide a way to override it when rebooting. Once you've unlocked the native lock screen, GOTO will take over the next time. There is no need to start it manually.
We would love to be able to permanently replace the built in lock screen but Android does not allow developers to replace the lock screen completely. GOTO is a normal app that does some code magic to provide as close an experience as possible to a complete replacement.
Yes, GOTO does not bypass the phone's built in security but rather works with it. If you enable pattern unlock you will be prompted for the password after you slide to unlock.
GOTO needs to have the Network Provider enabled. You can check by going to Settings and select Location & security. The Use wireless networks item should be checked.

GOTO currently only works with Gmail accounts. It integrates with the built in Gmail client on the phone to provide e-mail notifications, previews, and a shortcut to the Gmail application.
GOTO currently only works with the primary Gmail account on the phone.
The music player control currently only works with the built in Android music app.
NOTE: This may not be the same music app that ships with
your phone if it has been customized by the phone
manufacturers such as HTC, Motorola, and others.
We'd love to be able to work with 3rd party music apps as well but they have to provide an interface for us to talk to them. We'll be updating GOTO with support for popular music apps when they make that available.
We designed the weather update feature to be very conservative to minimize any battery use. For example, we do not use GPS to get your location but rather the wireless network which uses less battery since we don't need to be that precise. We also don't update very often, only every three hours, and the update itself is limited to a second or so and optimized with very little data being exchanged.
The background image can be changed from the GOTO Settings app, accessible from GOTO by pressing the Menu key or from the GOTO Settings icon in the launcher.
The owner name can be set from the GOTO Settings app, accessible from GOTO by pressing the Menu key or from the GOTO Settings icon in the launcher. The settings app also contains other preferences and customizations for GOTO.
GOTO is currently only available in countries supported by the Android Marketplace. We are planning to localize and release it in other countries marketplaces in the near future.
